Sorry for the long silence everyone. It has been a VERY hectic time these last few weeks. Here are my updates:
After finding out that my amniotic fluid levels were low, I took off from work on Wednesday to give me a longer Thanksgiving holiday for rest and recuperation. Good thing I did, because I went into labor late Thanksgiving evening at home. Unaware of what contractions actually feel like (so much for all the books and people that say you will absolutely know when contractions start...lol) I didn't start timing to see if I was in labor until Friday night! At 9:30 pm on Friday I went into the hospital and had my baby girl Nilah Grace at 8:27 am on Saturday. Nilah weighed in at 6'8oz and was 19 1/2" tall. Nilah (pronounced Neye-luh) was my Great Aunt's name on my Mother's side. I am named after my Great Aunt Susan, also on my Mother's side, so I am keeping with this tradition.
Overall, this was a great experience. Labor was not bad and the recovery has gone well. My Sister flew from Vermont to San Diego to help me the day I had her, so that has been a God-send!
Today is my 36th birthday and I am spending it with family in Vermont. My former roomie is taking care of my condo while I'm gone. She has been such a blessing to me. From late runs to get bottles, water, and sterilization systems, to support in general - she has really been there for me! Our friend Liz has also been doing everything possible to help me in this transition. Thanks y'all! I love you to pieces!
As far as sewing and knitting goes, I have cut the fabric for another quilt and completed two baby sweaters. Those pics to come in the next few days.
