FO - February Lady Sweater

Hello everyone! I am happy to post an actual FO. I started this one three times and am finally satisfied. I finished all but the last sleeve almost 2 weeks ago, but lagged on the final touches.

So - I am now 8 months pregnant with only 5-6 1/2 weeks to go. This little girl has been a sweetheart. She hasn't given me any morning sickness...or any other unbearable symptoms for that matter. She lightly kicks me and moves around so I know she's there and that's about it. No cravings, sleepless nights...just a lot of restroom stops. I can't complain about that though, it's not her fault my bladder is in her way. lol.

Here are the details:
Size: Medium (the first size 41")
Needles: Addi Turbo Click kits - US 7 and 8
Yarn: Cascade 220 in a bright blue - 5 skeins (there is still a fair amount left from the last skein).
Special Notes:
* I did my buttonholes on rows 2, 18, & 34.
* I followed Hunkypunk’s (from Ravelry) lead and used this increase calculator for deciding where to add my increases and replacing the “Make 1s” for yarn overs. For the first size 41 that translated into the following:
Knit 2, (YO, Knit 4) 8 times, (YO, Knit 5) 31 times, (YO, Knit 4) 7 times, YO, Knit 2.

That's it. One sleeve is a bit tighter than the other, so I might fix that down the road. In the meantime, this will get tons of use. I already have the extra yarn to make baby girl a matching sweater. We'll be spending a large chunk of our maternity leave there, so a warm wool sweater is exactly in order.

Speaking of my darling girl, I have purchased yummy fabric to make her a quilt. I have made a few baby quilts in the past for friends and decided it would not be fair to allow laziness to stand in the way of making one for her.

My Mother has been visiting me so we've been doing a lot of fun shopping. We made it to Yardage Town for a sewing meet-up group and also went to Beverly's to get the perfect fabric. I brought my rotary cutter to work so I can start cutting during lunch. Hopefully I can have this completed before she arrives, since my first knit sweater I've started for her is still in pieces. (She'll need something to stay warm, right?). Here's to hoping......

That is *the* perfect maternity sweater and will be great after baby girl comes, too. And I think it is the sweetest thing in the world that she is getting a matching one!

The bladder comment made me laugh. My little dude is only the size of, like, a tomato right now, but I can definitely tell when he's using my bladder as a pillow! :)

You're almost there, and I can't wait to "meet" your darling girl!!

Thank you so much for your congrats on my blog, btw. :) :)

I'm so glad that you are having a pleasant pregnancy! Your sweater is beautiful, both color and style. I can see why that has been such a popular pattern on Ravelry.

Not long to go! Hope all goes well in the next couple of months, and how lucky is baby girl to have her very own quilt in the making!

Ok I didn't realize it's been this long since I stopped by to visit. But apparently I've been gone a while! LOL!
