Rusted Root Progress and Branching Out

I have made really good progress on Rusted Root. I have been scanning blogs that have completed Rusted Roots to see how many of the lace pattern repeats they have and it looks like 14 is the max. Since I want mine to be longer, I will do 14 repeats as well. As you may (or may not) be able to see from this progress repeat, I am currently on repeat number 12. I should have only 26 more rows to go to completion. Since I'll be taking a lunch break at work, I'll try to get 6 rows finished and then I'm meeting Brandi from Knitting for Health at Java Jones for a coffee knit session at 5:00 pm. I think that I just might get to wear this on my Vegas trip this weekend after all!

In other knitting knews - I plan to bring a mini-project along with me during my weekend excursion to Vegas. I have some gorgeous Alpaca Silk DK weight from Debbie Bliss that just did not want to become Ms. Marigold. I lost a good portion of yarn in the ordeal and wasn't sure what to do with the leftovers. A group that meets at Starbucks on Monday nights in Clairemont Mesa are working on Branching Out by Susan Pierce Lawrence from Knitty.com. I think this will be perfect. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as it is such a soft yarn and would feel great as a lacy scarf.

The Rusted Root looks great. It really makes me want to knit one for myself. I hope you enjoyed your knitting group. Mine at my LYS got cancelled today because of the snowstorm we are getting right now.

Adrienne -
My yarn is Candy Apple, which is a discontinued color. I really like it so far. Barnyarn red sounds great too!

Anna -
That's too bad that is cancelled, although better safe than sorry when it comes to bad weather. I remember those days in Vermont!

It's looking great! Looks like you'll be finished before the weekend. Let me know when you want to get together again. I have to work this weekend but maybe we can get together during the week or next Sunday.

Virtous - the SecretPal 10 is already closed...sorry girl. They do it fairly often I think. Click on the link on my blog to get the hostesses' emails. It only lasts 3 months each time.

Gail - I'm pretty open next week, so the next time your off from work, let's get together. I still need to get back to my Marilyn NSSC before I forget what I'm doing. lol.

Your Rusted Root is turning out very pretty. I love lace patterns by Susan Pierce Lawrence. They are so clear to follow.

As for Candy Apple color of Cotton Fleece, you might still be able to get it at www.paradisefibers.net. I bought some from there a couple weeks ago.

Thanks - I'll take a look at their site.

Wow your RR is so close to being finished!
I knit Branching Out once as a gift (I didn't take pictures though) and liked it a lot because the lace is pretty easy but looks lovely. Perfect for spring!

I've got a question about blogger ... do you know how to add links to the pictures you have at your sidebar? I would like to use the SKC Button, for example, and link it to the SKC page. I tried to change the html code, but with those widgets, it all looks weird ...

Hope that you got your Rusted Root in time for your trip. Your progress is looking good. I think Branching out will look great in the Alpaca Silk.

Hi there! I saw your name on Brandi's blog. I lived in San Diego for a short time and I belonged to the Monday night knitting group at Starbuck's called Infinite Knitters. We're working on the Branching Out scarf long distance since I moved to Puerto Rico in January. C'mon and join the blog with Brandi and a bunch of my friends from South Florida! http://branchingbettieskal.blogspot.com/
