I had a knitting nightmare this evening. After working on Ms. Marigold using Debbie Bliss' Alpaca Silk Dk in the color wine, I lost a skein to the yarn knotting up and then lost all of my progress from a mistake that I couldn't seem to fix. Despite the material being soft and luxurious, I'm having problems with it knotting on me. After crying (litterally) I have put my newly started project away and am now picking up a new pattern by Wendy Bernard - "The Somewhat Cowl". I'm including pictures of the yarn that I've put aside. I'll need to order 3 more skeins to ensure that I have enough to do the pattern.
As far as the Somewhat Cowl pattern goes, it's also a top-down peice and I can use stash yarn. I hate to make swatches, but decided to try tonight with yarn that my boyfriend bought me on his trip to China a few years back. It doesn't have English on it and I wasn't sure the guage. It's a perfect match at 24 stitches to 4" in size 5. Just what the Doctor ordered. I'll keep you posted.

I have finished my first KAL with the Sexy Knitter's Club. It was really fun doing the Zephyr Girl's pattern again. After finishing Green Gable and Wicked, I am now on to their Ms. Marigold. I'm using Debbie Bliss in a lovely royal purple. It's very soft. Here's the finished pictures of Wicked. I really like the fit. I ended up buying an extra skein of Karaoke (7 skeins total) to get the length I wanted. I think that the pocekt (my first one) came out cute...you be the judge.

I must admit that I'm getting a tad bit envious of the SKC KAL. This is my first one and I love it, but I can't believe the incredible pieces that are being knit. Absolutely fabulous. It makes me want to get a move on with my Wicked. I have a long torso, so I feel like I've been knitting forever. I'm excited to get to the pocket since it'll be my first. At least I have some great knitters to get advise from should I have any difficulties. Either way I carry on!

I am happy to report that I have finished my Green Gable sweater. I do think that I could have added a bit more length (even after adding 2" more than the pattern states) due to my large upper half taking up some of the length...none-the-less, I'm happy with the completed project. Now I can join my fellow SKCs in the Wicked KAL.
I'm hooked on the Zephyr gals' patterns! I love to knit but am not the greatest at finishing. All three of these patterns are knit from the top down and in the round. Perfect! Little to no finishing with an up-to-date, polished piece in the end. I am half-way through Green Gable, but will start to work on Wicked this evening as part of the SKC knit-along. I'm pumped!

My Sizzle pattern does not look too good, due to my yarn choice. Even though I thought I saw a post with someone using Svale, the shape just isn't there. After finishing my Green Gable pattern http://www.zephyrstyle.com/catalog/item.cfm/2367447/2628822#image_1 and doing Wicked with the KAL, I will retry with the suggested yarn and maybe even in the round. I'm feeling the knitting groove again now that my graduate studies are complete.
